Introduction

Welcome to Holy Dormition Orthodox Church,
the Internet Home for our parish. The site provides news, information and event updates.

The Dormition of the Holy Theotokos Parish in Cumberland was founded in 1907 by immigrants from the Austro-Hungarian and Russian Empires. From its beginning, the parish was part of the North American Ecclesiastical Mission under the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church in Russia.

The parish continues to remain faithful to the vision of the original Mission, known today as the Orthodox Church in America.
